| Welcome to "how we sometimes wish things were." This is a collection of instrumental songs performed by me on acoustic guitar. All songs feature my Takamine EG334RC. They were recorded, like all of my music, with Quartz Studio Free and a 9 dollar computer microphone. This is some of my favorite music I've recorded to date. It features some striped down versions of some of my electric based music, and some new songs written just for acoustic guitar. This page has been optimised for Internet Explorer 6 and Netscape 4.x. How We Sometimes Wish Things Were (2:02 360k) (New Music) This sort of came out one morning after playing with the boys. I woke up on Bryans couch, and picked up his Kona acoustic guitar and just sort of played the double stops that eventually became this songs melody. This is really one of my favorite recordings. I love the little harmony parts and I feel like the solo is one of my best. 2. Heart and Soul (2:41 474k) (Acoustic Version) This is an acoustic version of Heart and Soul. It's a little stripped down, but I think really think it turned out nice. It really captures the spirit of the song. I love the harmony parts 3. A Guitarist's Prayer (1:21 239k) (Acoustic Version) This is an acoustic version of A Guitarist's Prayer. Another one of my finer moments and I think this version again captures just exactly what I was tryin to get across with this song in the first place. 4. Tribute (3:34 629k) (New Music) Some of you who hear this are gonna say "new music? I've heard this a bunch a times." Yup you have. This is an acoustic version of a song that "the boys" and I always used to jam to "get together." We always fancied it as a Tribute to 9/11. There is something so sad and lamenting in the dorian laden melody yet something so hopefull that comes out. We always called it the "pink floyd" thing. Props to Dan for coming up with the acoustic chord voicings for the chorus. |
