![]() Sammie at about 3 months old Sammie (aka Big Butt) 1998-2005 I am choosing to leave this page up in memory of my best friend. The words that follow are the words that I wrote the day after she died: 11-27-05 Today is a sad day indeed. Sammie my beautiful, loving, faithful to the end, Rottwieller died. I am not sure what happened. Dogs live precarious lives and so in some way I expected it someday but it was always that someday and never, hopefully today. I remember when She first came into my life, a small 4.7 pound puppy, with a fat belly and a quick to lick tounge. I remember when my late brother billy spent the night and he fed her KFC and she loved it so much she would get a piece of finger with the chicken. I remember as how she used to wine at the foot of the bed until i would scoop her up and pull her close. She loved to sleep in the small of my back. Then she grew and grew to be a 120 pound monster. I remember how she used to climb in my bed at dads and give me a quick lick on the chin and then snuggle close and go to bed. She loved to play in the water and she loved to run the mountains. She never failed to greet me when i pulled up every sunday with dad to see her. I loved that lick to the face and the warm body snuggled close. She died in her sleep a quite death of something unseen at the ripe old dog age of 8. Well loved as one of the family and better cared for than any dog could hope. I will miss you Sammie and I will remember the friend you were to me. I hope to always remember the lessons you taught me about friendship and love. Wherever you are may their be untamed mountains to run and friends to love you as I did. ![]() sammie takin it easy like always ![]() This one was a hard one to get by myself lol notice the slobber on my shirt yuck at nasty stuff haha ![]() she loves to just let go and run as hard as she can ![]() on the prowl ![]() still on the prowl ![]() this is where she spends her days in the mountains behind my dads house Interestingly enough though taken years prior to her passing this is the exact spot where she was buried |
